TUNG does not agree with KWAI. In his opinion, a ring symbolizes a man’s promise to a woman. As such, both parties should keep the promise once it has been made. YEE, however, believes one should not begin a marriage simply because of a ring. KWAI asks YEE how MARTIN is doing when YEE gets home. YEE gives her a hug, and then she starts to weep.
